About Me
If you asked me when I was younger what I would be doing in the future it wouldn't have been graphic design. In fact I didn't truly understand what graphic design really was until I was in my sophomore or junior year of high school. Don't get me wrong I knew somewhat what graphic designers were but I never truly realized what they did. When I became aware of the intense amount of design and creativity that graphic designers put into their work and the amount design that goes into our daily lives created by those very designers it amazed me. I wanted to be able to contribute to the design world by studying graphic design.
Ever since I was little I have always been fascinated with art and design. You would used to always catch me either drawing or painting when I was younger. However, when I got older my passion died down a bit but I never truly let go of it. I would always take art classes in and outside of school, watched videos of people drawing or crafting, and enjoyed looking at other's arts and designs. When I learned more about graphic design as I got older I started imagining my life doing this as a career and the thought greatly appealed to me to the point where I wanted to become a graphic designer. The thought of having a career in graphic design and possibly being able to do that as my lifelong career gives me a sense of excitement for what could happen in the future.
Graphic design, while I find it amazing, is actually a lot harder than it seems. Not only do you need to design what you think looks good but you need to think about what others will like as well, you're not just thinking for yourself. The processes are long and they can also be difficult but I truly enjoy it, even though it makes me cry sometimes, and I honestly can't see myself doing anything else in my life. While studying graphic design I've noticed significant improvement in my skills in design. However, I am not claiming to be great at it, in fact I still need to improve greatly if I am going to be able to compete with others for the job. The fact that this is a very competitive field I'm going into means that I need to be up to par with other designers so that I can beat them at the opportunity to steal a position in graphic design.
